Limited financial aid is also available in appropriate cases. |

House | A house of welcome for handicapped
individuals who need a place of rest and a break from their daily
struggles. |
| | Wheelchair
Project | This project produces wheelchairs
and adult tricycles at subsidized prices for handicapped people
who need a mode of transportation to be employable. The products
are not given free, but their cost is greatly reduced. |
| | Bakery
Project | This bakery is an income-generating
project for Hope for Life. The HFL members participate in this
project and are learning the skills needed to run a bakery business. |
| | Buduburam
Liberian Refugee Camp (Outside Accra)-SMA
lay missionaries from the French, Dutch and American
Provinces have served at the refugee camp. Although the American presence ended in 2007, the other missionaries and staff provide medical care, crafts projects, projects for
women, occupational therapy for children and adults
with disabilities, projects for deaf children, and
more. They minister to and assist the Liberian refugees
in obtaining necessary medical attention. |

Operation Hand in Hand (Nkoranza): This project, also called Peace of Christ Community, offers shelter and assistance to handicapped and abandoned children in central Ghana. It provides permanent housing for about 40 and provides work opportunities for another 20 from the nearby town and villages. The children live in a family setting in small groups with caregivers, to form their own village. The project also welcomes some visitors. S.M.A. has one Lay Missionary assisting with the care of residents and with administration. |

Eco Project (Cape Coast): For many years, S.M.A. Fathers from Netherlands and other countries have sponsored a project to raise awareness of environmental issues as religious concerns of care for God’s Creation. One U.S. Lay Missionary is assisting this project which involves traveling to various locations in Ghana to educate and guide people in ecological issues, as well as to support local projects to care for the environment. |
