It was now evening, and since it was Preparation Day there came Joseph of Arimethaea, a prominent member of the Council, who himself lived in the hope of seeing the kingdom of God, and he boldly went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. …Pilate granted the corpse to Joseph who bought a shroud, took Jesus down from the cross, wrapped Him in the shroud and laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock.
